I’m turning 22 in a week, my little brother is 17, my father is still alive but my mother died almost 9 years ago. My father sued the guy who killed my mother... long story short I’ve been on my own since I was 15. I’ve had to pay my own bills have my own job buy my own stuff. I had to drop out of school to work to put a roof over my head and ended up getting my GED. Well after I got my GED my grandparents had a college fund for me and I started my schooling for dental hygiene... then I took a class with the police department to see how police work is and I loved it so I switched my major a year in... decided to do pre law and did that for a year, then decided to do actual police work. So I decided to leave pre law and go to criminal justice. I now don’t want to be a police officer and I want to go back to school for dental hygiene so I can raise a family safely and make more money and be home at night. My boyfriend of 2 years thought it was a great idea and he told me to quit my job so I can focus on school. So I did and my brother offered me 10 grand from his bank account he got when my mother died and I accepted it with a legal document saying I had to pay him back. I start school in a couple weeks.... my grandparents are the one who has legal custody of him and they are so against me going back to school since I’ve changed my majors. They don’t think I’ll follow through with it which I understand. But they paid for my older brother to go to a huge university and paid for his college in cash and he now has no student debt. He’s 29 and is still on their phone plan, uses their credit card, drives a brand new car they are paying for. He doesn’t pay for shit and makes close to 200 thousand a year. I never got any support or any help growing up besides the college fund. They’ve never offered to put a roof over my head. They do feed me if I come over starving or if I used to have no money for food. But I was over yesterday printing papers for school and my grandpa kicked me out of his house and told me he doesn’t want to see me anymore and not to come over because I am unwelcome. All because I loaned money for school from my brother. I have now decided to cut them out completely and I want no contact with them in any shape or form ... am I wrong for that??
