Zofran??

Question

Diagnosed with mild Hyperemesis. Lost 7 pounds in the past week because I can barely eat or drink anything. Can’t even sip water without vomiting, so doc put me on Zofran. I’m terrified of taking it after what I’ve read online. so many birth defects stories.  Help!!

Trust your doctor, not what you read on google. I took it with my son. Didn’t need it this time.

i was also prescribed zofran at 6 weeks, i’ll be 9 weeks sunday. it’s literally the only thing that’s keeps me from vomiting non-stop. i was super scared to take it as well, you’ll be fine!

Most of the people i know have taken it while pregnant and all their babies are fine. For a long time it was one of the only drugs for nausea/vomiting

I took it with my first and have a healthy 21 month old.

I went to the ER and they gave me  zofran,after my pregnancy test came back positive while there the doctor gave me Phenergan .

My doctor prescribed it to me as well and it didn’t help whatsoever. I lost 20 pounds my first trimester. The only thing that helped me was promethazine also called phenergan I believe. I tried like 3-4 different meds before she prescribed that one and even then I still had to take it every 6 hours on the dot if not I would be sick that entire day.

I took it with my daughter and this pregnancy and everything was or has been fine. Don't go to Google for everything. Trust your doctor hun.

I’ve never heard of a doctor prescribing Zofran for pregnancy, it is a category b though so there’s no proven risk in humans. I had a virus one time and took one zofran and mentioned it to my ob, and he said one wouldn’t hurt so I don’t know exactly what that means lol. I have a friend that took something for nausea her whole pregnancy so I can ask her what she was prescribed, but I would trust your doctor. They won’t give you anything to harm LO.

Your doctor isn’t going to prescribe you something that isn’t safe. You’ll be fine.
