Is it possible to delay ovulation when starting IVF?

My average cycle is 26-27 days and I wondered whether the medication would affect my natural predicted ovulation date when starting IVF? Thanks

for the most part.  you take meds to suppress ovulation. but if you’re lucky like me, you’ll ovulate before both retrievals despite the meds to stop it😝

Yes. It will depends on how many days you do the stimulation drugs for and how quickly your follicles grow as to when your egg collection would be. It is unlikely to be the usual time that you ovulate

Yes.  In IVF, you can practically control everything.  I needed to push my ivf start date back by 1 week, so my doc put me on a split pack of birth control.  Once I started the stim meds, I took a specifically timed trigger shot, and my doc retrieved my eggs before I ovulated.

Med help suppress but as Cole mentioned it can happen (I’m also that lucky 😝).  Know your body and an advocate.  I stayed quite my first cycle and we missed all the eggs.      My second cycle I was very outspoken and vocal.   We did a different protocol.  We also did extra monitoring, including an ultrasound the morning before retrieval.   We also retrieved a day earlier than Doctor would normally recommend - just to be safe.
