When I was diagnosed with HSV2 I asked my nurse what i should do when it comes to my future sex life in terms of telling people. She replied “you don’t even need to tell anybody if you don’t want to, because it’s only transmittable when you’re having an outbreak”

So off I went living my life, and I had two sexual partners who I told about it, and I also told them what my nurse said, so no problem right?

Now I’m more clued up on herpes and I’m well aware that I’ve been misinformed, and that it can still spread when you’re not having an outbreak, how can a nurse tell somebody that? It was my comfort blanket, and the comfort blanket for my sexual partners and now I’ve been spreading misinformation, it’s no wonder so many people have it if we’re not told the truth by health professionals!! Anybody else feel like they’ve been misinformed about it?
