Late talker?

Any mommas on here have late talkers with their babies? My daughter turned 2 last month and is still only saying a handful of words. My pediatrician says she may have a "word explosion" soon and isnt too concerned with her speech delay. I guess I'm just hoping a few of you in a similar situation can give me some hope that my kid will talk one day. I'm feeling very discouraged. 😟

My son is 2.5 and doesn’t talk a lot or in sentences at all. Everyday he’s learning so I’m not worried. He only says about 20 words right now. And he really tries with others

I didnt really talk until I hit three. Once I decided to start talk I never stopped. Nothing changed just one day I decided to and it was sentences. You're baby will get there ❤

Every state has an early intervention program that is free and they provide great services. You could get your daughter tested if you are worried.

My daughter didn’t really start talking until she was about 2 and a half. She had chronic ear infections and as soon as she got tubes put in her ears. She had verbal diarrhea lol. She just couldn’t stop talking. 
My niece was almost 3 before she started talking. She walked around and said “eeee” for everything. It was incredibly frustrating. Now that she’s talking. She won’t be quiet either lol. We are working on full word sounds with her. She can’t/won’t say things like waffle. She calls it a wa-le there’s no f sound. I’m sure she will pick it up soon though.

My almost 2.5 yr old is just starting to say more words. She babbles a lot though! Her pediatrician wanted her to do speech therapy but I said no because the more we try to force her to do something to keep up with other kids the more she regresses. I haven’t started potty training either 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m hoping when she moves up next week to the 2s class for daycare maybe she’ll pick up on more and see them using the potty and want to do it herself.

My daughter turned 3 in March.. She still doesn't talk much. We are taking her next month to get a referral to get her tested for autism. 😢 at first her dr was saying the same thing too about word explosion.

My brother didn’t really talk until 3. My mom was worried so had a speech pathologist come work with him once a week at home and that really helped but he really just needed time. Once he started talking he’s never stopped.

I know a little one who only had mabey ten words, didn't speak in sentences, then at 2.5 began to speak a lot, now 3 she speaks non stop! My own oldest was not too different, didn't even say her own name at 2, was speaking single words or two words together. By four was speaking well athough she still misspronounces words at 14.
