This has probably been posted multiple times, but with all of these newer, family involved sex abuse cases connecting to mental health issues, maybe some new insight has been established.

I was listening to a friend vent about her 10 year old daughters father wanting to be inside their daughters physical appointment. She’s started her period, developed breasts, and has a mature body for her age. The daughter said she would not want her dad inside the room during the physical. The doctor is also male. And the father would feel safer knowing his daughter was safe. The mother/my friend was unable to attend this appointment. But reassured the father, that she would be safe and a female nurse would be present for the physical.

She mentions him being overly annoyed and refusing. His comments were that;

He needed to be in the room.

He could hide behind the curtain.

He wanted to ask questions about her that she might forget to ask.

My friend feels concerned for her daughter and worries if this is normal or signs that he’s a pedophile.

His daughter said no. She was uncomfortable with her father being in the room with her. And the father should respect this.

For anybody who is familiar with Becky Bailey, this kind of reminded me of her teachings and beliefs. She touches bases on “male child care workers changing diapers”..

The main idea it to not assume a male that plays a female role is a pedophile or pervert. Society has over sexualized us and made us sexist to the point of believing a male can’t do a “woman’s job” because he is sick, perverted, or has bad intentions..
