Sleep training: Night one
I want to preface this with the fact I did a significant amount of research prior to deciding to sleep train our daughter. It is not a decision I made lightly. If you feel like hating, please keep your opinion to yourself. Sleep training is a parenting decision, and it’s okay to disagree.
I laid my daughter down at 21:19, when she started to show signs of fatigue.
At 21:38, she started to fuss.
When she began to cry, I waited 3 minutes and then went in to console her. I did not pick her up.
As soon as I left, she cried again. I waited 4 minutes, and went into console her.
She cried again for 2 minutes, but then self-soothed for about 5 minutes.
She cried for another minute and then self-soothed again.
She let out one loud cry, but then shut her eyes.
By 21:55, she was asleep.
Not sure how long this will last, and I am not sure how night feedings will go, as she usually
eats at 1:00 and 4:00.
The first 10 minutes were SO hard. I shed a couple tears. However, I am so glad I waited it out. This is the first time she has put herself to sleep in a month and a half.
