So i work in a convinence store. The shop is open every day 6am-10pm. I am contracted 16hours n do a mix of 10-2/2-6 or 6/10pm shifts. but lately seem to be doing every 6-10pm shift. This week my manager is expexcting me to do 4 in a row and even snuck an extra one in without asking me bringn me over my hours. Its really starting to pee me off. Im 24wks pregnant and starting to feel it now. Also my cars broke so means i have ti walk 40mins there and 40mins back. Ball ache getting buses as beed to get 2 diff ones. And why should i pay taxi fare when there putting me in all these shifts. Annoying thing is the manager lives above the shop n puts herself in all the day shifts. Is there anyway i stand here? As me and another woman was meant to do 2days and 2 eveing shifts that we were happy with but were always stuck with the lates 😡

Im a nurse and the ward i work on is taking the p**s! The sister that does the rota put me on 4 nights back to back then wanted me to switch my body clock and do 2 back to back day shifts less than 23 hours after finishing nights. I seem to be taking more patients now than the rest of the other nurses, I had 13 the other night. I go without breaks, I'm in agony with spd and spend some time vomiting at work now. I've honestly had enough of the place. Some work places are just vile towards pregnant women and they wonder why we don't go back to them afterwards or find another job. Really makes you feel undervalued and unappreciated. I'm going to take mat leave early, I suggest you do the same. Put you and your baby first not money or work even though it's hard.

Sadly, just being pregnant, is not a medical reason in its own for work places to have to make automatic adjustments for. Though I would hope managers would be a little more understanding.... The best way forward I think is to request for a referral to occupational health, who can make recommendations to your employer who then are obliged to make reasonable adjustments for you. A reasonable adjustment would be not having to do four or five lates in a row. Damn I feel for you, that's rough. And I'm sorry your boss is not helping. For me, OH suggested no night shifts, so work had to shuffle things around for me

I've had this recently whilst working in retail, currently 28wks, I went to Dr and got a sicknote to cover me until maternity leave, I had asked on numerous occasions to have lighter duties but was not given any 🤷‍♀️
