Ovulation test for Pregnancy?

Okay so I am currently 8 DPO and 6 days from my next period. I didn’t want to waste any pregnancy tests, so on a whim I used an ovulation test strip (clear blue digital). I got a flashing smiley... I’m confused?! Could this mean I’m pregnant?! Has anyone had an experiences with this? Thank you.

Take a pregnancy test to detect pregnancy. Opk's can pick up pregnancy, however when they do they firstly don't pick it up before a pregnancy test would and secondly they're stupidly blazingly positive.
It's also quite common to have a LH surge just before your period - so using an opk as a pregnancy test is really pointless as it tells you nothing really.
