Our new next door neighbors have built a mansion and the workers damaged our fence which separate the two lots. Unfortunate but it happens. The owners sent us an email saying they will claim it on their insurance and replace it but they want to paint the new fence the same colour as their dark grey roof. Our fence is light green which matches our gate, doors and outdoor beams.

We kindly replied to let them know we are not keen about the idea and we would prefer to keep our original color. We live near the beach, it took us some time to decide to go with a green shade and our outdoors matches it. We also said they could paint their side of the fence with a different shade. The guy is a multi-millionaire, he acts like he owns the world and will not accept our decision. He told us over the phone that he is paying for the paint therefore he should do as he wants.

We are not happy and we aren’t sure what do say next. Any ideas would be much appreciated! Thank you 🙏

The damaged spots aren’t all visible on this picture but that’s basically it all the way. It’s a very long fence.

UPDATE: Thanks everyone for taking the time to reply. We had a « meeting » with him last night and what a bully oh my... We didn’t budge and told him that the only solution is to add a fence on his property and replace ours- end of story.

His wife sent us an email later that night and we’ve finally came to an agreement. Thanks again for all the advices, it helped us greatly!
