Any moms have some awesome tricks for nasty medicine?

My son got prescribed augmentin today. I remember taking it when I was younger and I totally sympathize with him bc I remember it being DISGUSTING and making me puke. I had the pharmacy flavor it bubblegum but I just gave him the first dose and it still didn’t go well. I held his nose while he took it, had a Dr Pepper for when he swallowed (I don’t give him sodas except for when he needs to take nasty medicine, which is rare), and also gave him a sour punch straw when he was done to try to get the taste out of his mouth. He gagged it down (he’s almost 4 btw) but I can’t imagine doing this twice a day for the next 10 days. But I also know he has to take it. Help me if you have any tried and true tips or tricks!! Anything would be appreciated.
