Did anyone just stop smoking cold turkey during pregnancy? I’m 20+5 and really want to stop smoking tomorrow what did you do? Tips, tricks ect

I miscarried in March then got pregnant again in April quit cold turkey when I got my positive! Not easy! It wasn’t the cause of my miscarriage but I didn’t want to take any chances!! I chewed a lot of gum and tossed a lot of mints/candy in my mouth constantly!!! I’m almost 23 weeks and I still occasionally miss it! You got this everyone is different!! Maybe switch to vape, every time I quit cigs I vape for a bit after helps ease into it and vaping is no comparison to a nice cigarette so quitting that was easy!!!

Hi, i am currently 22 weeks and wanting to start tomorrow as well. We could be quitting friends? Lol i know it sounds weird but maybe having someone in the same boat might help! I have had a extremly rough time with this.

I found out at 9 weeks I was pregnant and quit smoking cold turkey, 20 weeks now and omg cigrettes stank so bad and that ash tray, my husband still smokes though. Didn't have any special tricks just thought about my baby and its Mind over Matter !!!!

It’s hard. I’m still smoking at 24 weeks but I have cut down a lot from 10 prior to pregnancy and now at 3-5 depending. I try not to smoke a full cigarette either. My dr told me to keep cutting back and that cold turkey wasn’t good. She said that if I couldn’t quit at all that 1-2 a day isn’t enough to affect the baby for long term after they’re born and that baby could still be healthy. My sister smoked all 3 of her pregnancies. Not sure how much a day though and my mother smoked with all of us as well and we’re all healthy. Just gotta keep trying to cut back and hopefully quit. We got this!

I quit cold turkey when I got my positive! I chewed a lot of gum in the beginning! After about a week you won’t miss it.

Back-up vices. It was harder for me to give up the process of it rather than the actual cigarette. Lollipops are helpful 🙃
