Who decides what the kids call their grandparents?

The Grandparents chose for my son. But kids tend to call you what they want.
My dad wanted to be Papa... my son calls him Bapa and it’s the cutest thing ever.

I guess a combination? I've seen some posts about grandparents wanting to be called some weird-ass names, so I'd say definitely the parents need to be OK with the choices.

My in laws chose their names and my parents said that whatever my daughter ends up calling them will be their name.

We told our parents to start thinking about what they want to be called when telling them we were pregnant. Ultimately the child will call them whatever makes sense to them

My mom insisted that my eldest nephew (and his eldest cousins) called her “grandmother” with the hopes that they would Could up with their own version of it. They (and all of the grandchildren) now call her “Amma” since that’s what the eldest grandchild managed to say.

My ex's parents chose their names. I was raised by my grandparents so my grandfather was okay with being called the same thing he always has, my grandmother tried to get my kids to call her one name but one day when my oldest was around a year and a half he just randomly started calling her Mimi and its stuck ever since.

My mom asked to be Nana. My mother in law demanded to be the only nana so she is Grandma(😂😂 never tell me youre the only and demand shit it backfires) and my dad didnt care but his girlfriend tried to get started with pop-pop but in my family we called my grandfather papa so thats what my kids call my dad. I dont have a father in law so he's just nobody.
