So I'm a FTM due in a couple weeks. I'm a teacher as well, and recently spoke with HR and got some disappointing news. I knew I wasn't going to be paid for my time on maternity leave, but they also said they were going to deduct the days I'm gone from my pay AND they weren't going to pay my health insurance while I was gone so that is another deduction when I come back.

Basically with the mandatory retirement, deductions, daycare, and health insurance for me and baby girl I'm going to be taking home like $500 every 2 weeks. For a job where I easily put in 50+ hours a week and deal with rude teenagers a lot...

A part of me wonders if it is worth it to even go back? We'd just be on my husband's pay, which we can do but it's a struggle.

I was just wondering if I could get some thoughts and opinions from other ladies.
