Should I keep the father updated with pregnancy ??

Question

Long story short the father of my baby decided he didn't want to be with me anymore. He asked me to have an abortion and I said no. We got back together and broke up again and he hasn't reached out or even checked on the pregnancy. I found out the sex of the baby yesterday and I just feel like I shouldn't even reach out or tell him. Since it's his baby do you think I should ???

I would just send a text, tell him what’s going on after appointments, if he chooses not to reply then that’s his fault, but he can’t throw it in your face that you didn’t try. I would feel better doing that, just for my own peace of mind.

Nope, don’t tell him anything. If he isn’t in the picture as hard as it it to hear he obviously doesn’t care so you’re just gonna be hurt more by him not caring. Leave him out of it, if he wants back in the picture later that’s up to you but a baby deserves their father in their lives not one that wants to pop in and out it’s not fair just keep that in mind for later.... don’t try hard if he isn’t going too it sucks I know but focus on you and the baby right now.

I would only update him if something was wrong but general updates like the gender etc I wouldn't bother.

If he doesn’t ask, just focus on yourself and baby and don’t bother trying with him.  If he asks to be included though, then include him.
My ex had nothing to do with my second pregnancy.  I notified him 2 days after her birth that she was born.  He visited her in the nicu and didn’t see her again until she was 6.  I’m glad I didn’t waste my time or energy trying to include him in the pregnancy.

My first pregnancy was like this. I was 17 and he was 16 though. We broke up I found out and he said a abortion would be the best. I agreed but I couldn’t go through with it. He never asked how I was feeling or if I went through with it. I ended up telling him that I didn’t go through with it and the sex. He was like cool, but didn’t seem very interested. I tried to keep him updated as I thought it would bring us close together to at least co parent. It took a few months of ignoring my text and in his words “partying and getting it out” while he could, but he finally came around. We got back together and currently are expecting our second boy. He’s a way better partner this time. I think you should decide what’s best for you and your child. The father might be scared and feel kind of like my boyfriend did. Think about your future and if you see his father in it (even just co parenting). This probably didn’t help much, I just could relate to the father being kind of absent. I wish you and your baby the best❤️

Considering it sounds like you guys ended on rough terms; I wouldn't bother. Especially since he initially wanted you to abort. You could however, shoot him a text and ask him if he wants to be kept in the loop, if not don't waste your time or stress yourself but if he does then absolutely keep him updated.

Depends your situation if you split just because and have been civil I don’t see why not or maybe it was a one night stand so obviously no real relationship but he’s been around don’t see why not but if he wants nothing to do with it then no screw him
