I feel like this is the perfect place to post about this. I have always had problems when touched downstairs. It has affected a lot of my relationships, and myself as well. It’s at the point where I have never worn tampons, or really fully gone all the way. I was finally able to put a name to it and get diagnosed with Vaginismus, which is the involuntary contraction of muscles around the opening of the vagina with no abnormalities in the genital organs. The tight muscle contraction makes sexual intercourse or any sexual activity that involves penetration painful or impossible, from my doctors and therapist. It’s been a very hard process but I’m slowly figuring things out. I just hope anyone who can relate to this knows that they aren’t alone.
