So my water is leaking at 29 weeks 😣

Bella

I was having some really bad period like cramps in my lower back yesterday morning that started around 11am. I thought maybe it was that I had slept funny or it was from my recent chiropractic adjustments the days before.

They pain kept getting worse, coming in waves and only in my back not in my tummy at all. I would have to get on my bed and be on all fours during the waves of pain, still just thinking maybe I was having muscle spasms unrelated to pregnancy.

I called my OB after hours line and they said to go to the ER just in case and on the way there I noticed a lot more discharge than what has been normal for me during pregnancy. It was clear and very thin, no blood or thick mucous of any kind, I was honestly thinking maybe I was having urinary incontinence from the muscle spasms but it started to give me some major anxiety.

To sum it all up, the spasms were contractions and when they did my cervical exam my cervix is closed but they did test the vaginal fluid and it's positive for amniotic fluid 😨😣 They said that my sac has ruptured and I was having contractions from it. The ultrasound they did shows baby is healthy and doing great, and still has plenty of fluid to float comfortably in.

They admitted me, put me on magniusim, antibiotics, steroid shots, blood thinners and said they're keeping me admitted until baby comes. Im only 29 weeks... They said theyre trying everything they can to keep him in until 35 weeks but if the contractions get worse to where they start to open my cervix or I lose too much amniotic fluid, we will have to deliver him earlier than that.

I'm still in shock, I thought I maybe had a UTI or I threw my back out. Im terrified of having a premature baby especially only 29 weeks. I feel awful that this is happening and hope I didn't do anything to cause this.

Any prayers for my baby would be greatly greatly appreciated.

Anyone who has gone through this and has any hope to share or advice I would love that too. Im a wreck but trying to stay positive at the same time.
