B STREP TEST?!

hey guys. I’m 35 W + 2 days & my next appointment I will be receiving the Group B Strep Testing! FTM here so i’ve never heard / or had this done before.
What does this consist of??

They just take a swab/q tip thing and quickly swab your vag and booty hole. It’s gentle and super quick

They just swab real quick. It’s not a big deal if you’re positive. They just need to know before you’re in labor. It’s really not that uncomfortable. It’s over so fast. My doc just did it while checking dilation.

I had it and it wasn’t terrible but it was uncomfortable. I tested Positive, it’s nothing huge.

Please make sure you know your results before you go into labor. I tested positive nobody ever told me so at the hospital they toold their sweet time hooking up antibiotics for it and my son and I had group b strep sepsis. My son almost died. I ended up having to have a c-section because of their negligence

They let me do my own swab - takes seconds

I just swabbed between myself and they sent it for testing. I was positive for both. They’ll give you meds in the hospital but I’ve had 2 homebirths. Did them in water and my waters weren’t broken for long before birth so. Nbd!!

Ugh yeah I just had it. They literally take a sample from your vagina and anus and send it for testing. I’m not sure I’d say it hurt but it was VERY uncomfortable.

It’s just a lil swab from from your butt to your vag to test for a certain bacteria. Took literally two seconds & didn’t even feel it lol
