If you conceived at 40, was it harder for you?

Did u need assistance? I don’t always O on my own have irregular cycles etc. I’m breastfeeding and my sons 7 months. I’m not sure if I’ll try to get pg again yet or if I’m done. I’d love to have another but my hands are pretty full.
Some told me it’s harder in your 40’s etc. so I’m trying to decide if I’ll wait. Thoughts?

I had IUI at 39 (same sex partner) and conceived on the first try with no medication.

It's not that much different than when you conceived your 7 month old. I conceived easily at age 38 and my friend at age 39. If your cycles are irregular then that might be challenging, but a year or two age difference in and of itself isn't very significant.

42. First pregnancy. No particular difficulty. I am 38wks now and it has been a really easy pregnancy. No issues, no complications, no bad or annoying symptoms beyond the extra weight to carry....

I’m 26 weeks with my first. Was a few months shy of 40 when I conceived. My partner is 53. We got pregnant the second month of trying with no interventions. I think this is all so individual. Some people struggle at 25 and some people have it easy at 40. If you have a 7 month old I think that bodes well. If you waited another 6-12 months the chances are decent that you’d be able to conceive. Not guaranteed, though as fertility drops off very rapidly after 40. I think if I have a second it will have to be within 12 mo of giving birth if I’m to have any chance of having a second successful pregnancy.
