Is it okay to walk down the aisle alone?

As many of you may know, the tradition of the father walking the bride down the aisle was created because women were considered property. In that instance, the father was literally giving the bride away the bride to the groom as property. Obviously, we are more evolved now, and women are not considered to be property, but the tradition of the father (or father figure) walking the bride down the aisle is still very common. I love my dad, and he is alive and well, but I don't want him to walk me down the aisle. It still seems kind of sexist to me, and I want it to be my moment of walking towards my future husband, not my dad and I walking towards my future husband. Thoughts?
