Any McDonald’s workers on here? X

Hi! This is so random 😂 but my midwife has told me that I can’t have McDonald’s milk shakes or McFlurrys because of not knowing if the machines are cleaned and therefore can pass on bacteria etc. I am CRAVING a McFlurry 😭 any workers on here that can tell me if the machines are cleaned daily or if it’s worth to stay away? Thanks 😂x

Personally? I say go get yourself a McFlurry. There is bacteria and stuff anywhere and everywhere we go. You don’t ever know what you could come in contact with. Be smart and avoid things that are very clearly dirty but otherwise just live your life. I had ice cream and milkshakes my whole pregnancy and baby is just fine.

It’s not just McD. It’s all soft serve which comes out of a machine. Just buy normal ice cream and make your own 😊
Plus even if they are cleaned daily, you never know how thoroughly

I tried the stroopwaffle Mcflurry a couple of weeks ago and it was amazing! Yes, there is a possibility of getting sick from a dirty ice cream machine, but the risk of that happening isn't any higher for a pregnant women than anyone else, and how often does it actually happen to anyone? 
It seems like the list of foods they expect pregnant women to avoid is absolutely ridiculous considering literally any food can become contaminated at any time. 
Avoid drugs and alcohol. Limit mecury containing fish, and aim for a mostly whole food, healthy and well rounded diet. Otherwise, enjoy living your life!

I’ve had a couple of McFlurrys, I was half way through the 2nd one when I remembered I shouldn’t be having it 😂 everything has been fine ever since tho!

I don't work at McDonalds but it probably depends on which one you go to as each McDonalds is managed by a different person. And unfortunately if you ask them they're of course going to say yes, even if they aren't. However, I'm pregnant with my 3rd and was never told this by a doctor or midwife and honestly never thought about it. I had a shake from McDonalds just the other night lol.

I was having thick shakes and mc flurry’s through the first half of my pregnancy like smashing them down daily and then my midwife said I had to avoid it so I did for the remainder of my pregnancy but if your desperately craving one have just one nothing will happen

I used to work at McDonald’s for over a year and I can honestly tell you the store I worked at didn’t clean there machine the way they should have, there was one time I remember it was taken apart for the first time in 4 weeks and only because it stopped working and there was mold in the tubing that the ice cream goes through

I had many blizzard softserves in my first and 2nd trimesters because i didn't know it was a no-no, everything has a risk of making you sick etc, you just have to decide whats an okay risk and whats not worth it for you, nothing is 100% safe honestly
