Planning a trip 2 weeks before EDD?

My hubby’s birthday is on the 27 of Sep, 2 weeks before my EDD on the 11 October. We would have to travel 7 1/2 hours in the car to get to where his family lives. I do want to go on this holiday. Has anyone else gone on holiday so close to an EDD and been okay? It is my first baby and I was 2 weeks overdue myself.

Too close to the due date AND that long in the car is a risk for blood clots at that stage.  My first came at 38 weeks so it does happen even if it’s a first baby.

I definitely wouldn't count on being overdue. There's really NO WAY to know and I for one would not risk it.

Honestly I'd ask your OB. They will tell you whether they are comfortable with it or not!

No way. I had my first at 39 weeks and my second at 38 weeks. Once you hit 37 weeks they could come at anytime. I personally wouldn’t risk it but talk to your doctor about it.

My first was born at 36 weeks and 4 days. My OB doesn’t advise traveling over a couple hours after 32 weeks. Plus like someone mentioned before,  car ride of that amount of time puts you at risk for blood clots. I would say if you want to do the trip still, that you bring everything you need for the baby with you in the car and map out where the hospitals are along your route, just in case! That is if your OB is ok with you going.

My daughter came at 38+3 with no sign of her coming early. Woke up and my water broke. I’m glad I didn’t go on a trip before that haha

I would talk to your ob about it and make plans for if the baby comes early. What if you have to find a hospital on the way. Definitely would be taking a lot of stop's on the way to stretch my legs as well. 
Your mom's birth history has no effect on how your body works. Me and my brother are both premies (33 weeks and 36 weeks) and I got induced at 39weeks with both of my kids due to high blood pressure. I expect that if it was not for that, I would have gone past 40 weeks.

My first came at 37w, my water broke with no warning. This time I'm planning to take leave from work at 36w. I don't want to deal with working over an hour away from home in case something similar happens this time.
Plus I can't even imagine being in a car that long right now at 31w.

No way I could travel that long in a car. Also this is just pushing it too much for me honestly.
