Baby showers in my family and even in my circle of friends has always been dressy casual it’s just a thing I was taught so in my opinion no it’s not but go off your crowd and what you’re comfortable in

It depends on the shower. Baby showers I’m my family are business casual events. The only one to dress up is the mother to be so she feels more special. So I would check in on the dress code.
