Are sharp pains normal in early pregnancy?

I am only 4 weeks (only just found out) and I am getting general cramps but from time to time getting sharp pains on the left side.. is this normal?

I had that kind of pain with my first baby at the point that I couldn’t walk normal, around 6 weeks I went to the ER , was my first and I was scared . They had me doing ultrasound, blood tests and there was absolutely nothing wrong. Good luck to you . Do you have the same pain when you are laying down ?
