Didn’t hear the heartbeat ?

So I had my first ultrasound two weeks ago with a clinic when they thought I was eight weeks. Turned out I was only six. They didn’t do vaginal and I seen the baby and the heartbeat. Then last week at eight weeks I went to my normal physician and they did a regular ultrasound seen the baby and heartbeat but I didn’t get to hear it. I’m a first time mom so do you only hear with a vaginal ultrasound?

No.. you can hear with an abdominal US.. but they wont listen until around 12 weeks..

I just had my 1st ultrasound this pregnancy and they tracked the heartbeat but by watching the blood flow but they didn’t listen to it.  Nothing to be concerned about.  You will hear the heartbeat some other time with a Doppler or later ultrasound!

Had my appt today at 9 weeks 1 day, my doctor said they usually can’t hear until 10 weeks but tried just in case. My uterus is tilted so they couldn’t hear it though.

I'm in the UK. I didn't get to hear the heartbeat with my first until my 15 week midwife appointment and she used a doppler. I never heard her heartbeat when I had an ultrasound, just with the midwife's doppler.

My first us was abdominal at 6w5d and I was able to see the heart flicker at 136 bpm but not hear it. My second was transvaginal at 8w0d and you could hear a strong heartbeat at 170.

I heard the heartbeat at 8w6d but even then it was very faint and hard to hear but it was there. I can see why they wouldn’t want to check early on. They only did with me because of a miscarriage scare. 
I think you’re just to early, try not to worry (easier said than done).

I had a transvaginal ultrasound at 8w1d. We didn’t get to hear the heartbeat, just saw it flickering on the screen. I won’t hear it until my 12w appointment. I think every OB practice is just different.
