How could a nurse be THAT wrong
I’m currently 37 weeks pregnant. Last Saturday (36+6) i went to the hospital with concerns that my water broke. A few tests later (including a dry speculum being shoved up me) it turns out it wasn’t my water. ANYWHO, the nurse checked me and said i was 2 cm dilated 70-80% effaced.
That gave me hope over the last few days, thinking that the BH I’ve been having since then would lead to something.
Today i had my weekly check and my dr said i wasn’t anywhere close to being dilated or effaced. My question is: is it really that easy to be THAT wrong? Or does this nurse really just not know what she’s doing?
I know that dilation and effacement can change within hours, so it’s not the end of the world by any means but it doesn’t make it any less disappointing.
