Confused a bit???

Hey mommies!!
So I went to the Doctor today and I was told that I’m measuring 29 weeks and I’m only 26 weeks. 
What exactly does this mean, please break it down for me ????

My 24 week appointment  my belly measured 4 weeks ahead.
My dr said my next appointment  28 weeks  she will measure again and if my belly is still ahead we will have to do a ultrasound  too see how baby is measuring.

I went to a private 5d ultrasound today, I’m 26 weeks 3 days and they’re measuring me at 27 weeks, but my actual OB is concerned because I myself haven’t gained or lost any weight at all. My baby is growing, my placenta is looking good as well as amniotic fluid levels.. my belly just isn’t measuring what it should. I’ve been looking into things sometimes you just have a lot of fluids and your belly measures larger or whatever the case may be. My belly isnt growing but my little one is large. Babies grow different!

I think is means your belly and baby are measuring ahead of what you are my midwife told me it can sometimes go early

For that far ahead they will do a scan to confirm and change ur due date accordingly.  At 28+1 I measured 28+4 my midwife said its give or take 5 days.. anything elnse would be of concern and need to check and change dates appropriately

At a certain point, I believe it’s 24 weeks, all of our babies grow at different rates based on genetics. I am assuming doctors go by generic measurements for our check ups. As long as your doc is not concerned I wouldn’t worry.

They measure from the top of your pubic bone to the highest part of your uterus called the fundus. Every cm should equal about how many weeks you are. So if you are 25 weeks your fundus should be around 25cm long. But sometimes you can be off a couple of weeks and that’s normal and it all depends on growth spurt. But it’s a good indicator for doctors to know how the weight gain is for you and baby. Also to make sure your not measuring too big or too small.
