Midwife waiting list??

Question

How many of you have been put on a midwife waiting list and ended up getting one? First time mom and I'm nervous I won't get one... Had no idea I had to get one immediately... I'm 14weeks... 
At how many weeks did you get in?
At how many weeks did you apply for a midwife?
Where are you located?

I’m in Ontario. 5 yrs ago I was put on the wait list with one clinic while pregnant with my second. I wound up getting called with one later in my pregnancy but had found another at a different clinic by then. We’re al covered by provincial health insurance here so I don’t know if it works differently elsewhere.

2nd pregnancy, I got put on a waiting list and didn’t see her until 24 weeks 😬 before then, I saw a physician’s assistant at the same clinic.  It wasn’t worth it for me.  It was too late to really develop a relationship with her and she didn’t end up delivering my baby (she didn’t come on shift until 6am, I delivered my daughter at 5:56am, she didn’t even come see me until 11am).  I wish I had found one that wasn’t on a waiting list or just stuck with an OB tbh.  
This pregnancy, I found a midwife without a waiting list and have been seeing her since 13 weeks.  I adore her!  I actually see a team of midwives in case mine isn’t on call, but she loves me so has asked to be called when I go into labor regardless of whether or not she’s on call.
