My husband has completely detached after having our most recent baby and I dont see things turning around. He is unappreciative and not helpful. He hasnt even spoken to me in 2 days over me asking for help and him getting defensive.

When he screamed at me for not immediately saying thank you when he bought me something nice (I was stressed because I was scared of breaking it while I set it up so I asked him in a little panic if he could help me when he got home so I don’t fuck it up) and when I started shaking and trying to apologise despite my heavy stutter, he told me, “shut the fuck up and don’t move a goddamned inch or I’m going to turn you into a sex slave under my fucking desk.” Because I had health problems and wasn’t in the mood for sex for a few months. And I sat 100% still and silent for three hours while he got drunk, my dog sat in my lap comforting me but I couldn’t pet him because I was too scared to move. And after that, I knew when I went to Eve to ask others about my relationship, despite the fact that he was clearly abusing me emotionally and eventually physically.

You need to talk to him and see what his deal is, and see if it's something you can both work on. If he doesn't want to have it, then maybe go stay with family or friends for a few days and see how he reacts. If he doesn't want to work on anything, move forward.

One if you has to break and TALK to each other.  I refuse to let that happen in my house anymore. If you have a problem then you need to speak up about it so it can be finished or resolved
