Can baby be left alone? (Read all)

Question

We live in a third floor apartment. I try to do the grocery shopping when my husband is home so he can help, but sometimes I will have to go when he is at work. Carrying her up and down the stairs with me while I carry up all the groceries is not an option (especially here in the Midwest with extreme summers and winters). So what are my options?
Leave her in her carseat and set it on her nursery floor and shut the door? (We have pets, so I would have to keep them out)
Lay her in her crib?
Or is it completely unacceptable to leave her alone while I go up and down the stairs to get groceries?

I think the crib would be a better option than the carseat but as long as it's not extended periods I cant see any harm. I'd think you taking her up and down the stairs while carrying bags would be more dangerous in case you loose balance

If the apartment is in sight and she’s confined so she can’t wonder then she should be fine!

If you are just going from the car to the apartment to get groceries then I would go inside the house and lay baby in the crib put all the pets of out the room and then get the groceries if baby is asleep I would bring the car seat into the room SET in on the floor take all the pets out of the room and close the door. It would be the safest option.

Should be fine, just make sure you have your keys on you just in case the front door closes and somehow locks behind you. If you have a baby monitor maybe keep it in your pocket just so you can hear your baby.

Just put her in her crib. Make sure she's dry/clean and safe. No problem.

When I lived on the third floor, I would bring her up with as many groceries as I could carry. Put her safely in her room (either in the car seat or the crib) and then hurry to get the rest. You’re right, it’s not practical to keep bringing her up and down. If I had an extreme amount of stuff, I’d baby wear her while I brought things up.

I put my 7 month old in her crib and my 2 year old in his high chair while I grab stuff. We live on the 2nd floor of an apt.
