Evening sleep routine
Hey guys,
I have a 7 weeks old girl who was born at 35 weeks and was very small. She is exclusively formula fed as I’ve had breast reduction surgery and unfortunately could not produce more than 10ml no matter what I did. Anyway initially we were feeding her every 3 hours, about 2 weeks ago she reached 3 kgs finally so we were told to see if we can stretch her feeds to 4 hours. She happily goes about 3-4 hours between feeds now however the last few days she seems to only wake up to feed and nappy change during the day and sleep very well. But refuses to sleep no matter how tired she is in the evening, so from 7-8 pm to about 12-2 am in the morning we’re trying to get her to sleep. We’ve tried feeding, leaving her in the bassinet even but just is not working.
We don’t really have a evening routine as such it was just feeds every 3-4 hours however we kept our interactions to almost nothing so she would know it’s sleep time. Right now she has a bath in the morning, is it worth it to introduce bath before bed in the evening? And is it okay to have a bath twice for her?
What type of routines have you guys got for babies similar age and how does it work for you?
Thanks xx
