Quick large weight gain? 36 weeks

I haven’t gained much weight all pregnancy. I actually was so sick at the beginning I lost 16 lbs and as of Friday I was still down 6. From Friday to today I gained 8lb 😳 I don’t feel or look more swollen anywhere. Did this happen to anyone else? Is it water weight what??

I would call your doctor first thing. That’s a lot to gain over the weekend.

I have had moderate weight gain my whole pregnancy as well, but in the last 2 weeks I have gained 2 lbs a week. My OB said she isnt worried because it could be that I'm just retaining more water since it's so hot, and that my body is producing more blood volume to prepare for blood loss during labor.

I had a jump in weight gain at 36 weeks as well actually! I think it was 6 or 7 lbs My OB ordered a growth scan for 37 weeks. I've lost some weight since then so honestly I don't know why it happened 🤷‍♀️
