Are gender reveals lame if the couple already knows the sex?

Idk, I don’t personally agree with “gender reveals” or “baby showers” I’m from England. It’s not something we’ve ever done over here until the last few years, I think it’s been adapted from other countries. I don’t see the point in a gender reveal and I find baby showers tacky, as a way of basically asking for gifts. I don’t know if that’s how it is in other countries, but it seems to me like the few girls who’s I’ve been too, it’s nothing to do with the celebration of the baby, it’s just about the presents they receive🙄

The reveal isn’t always for the parents. Sometimes it’s for the grandparents and other family.

We wanted to find out at the scan so we could have our private happy moment of knowing what our baby would be. 
We then had a gender reveal for close family and it was really nice because we already knew so I felt we paid more attention to their reactions instead of being caught up in our own ☺️

Lol the people commenting about not liking gender reveals when that wasn’t even the question asked. 🙃🙄 
I’m doing it one but not for “social media” 🙄 I think there is more to that for some people. People just wanna be rude lol. And who cares if it’s for social media? What does that matter? 
Anyway if you wanna know before everyone else I think it’s still going to be exciting because you get to see everyone else’s reaction. I think both ways are good as long as the parents are happy! That’s all that matters!

I don’t care for gender reveals in general - I don’t like assigning colors and ideas to genitals. Boys can like pink and dolls and girls can like blue and football etc...

I’m a teacher and we had one for my students one day during lunch. They LOVED it, even though we already knew the gender.

My boyfriend and I had a revel the only people who knew what the gender was is him, his mom, and me. But the people who came loved it and really wanted us to have one I was totally against it thinking it was for social media purposes but I ended up having a really good time and glad we had it!!

Depends. Family friends wanted us to do a small little gender reveal because she was excited and so I said okay that’d be fun butt my husband and I were not waiting until that to find out. So we found out and then we just did the reveal to reveal to our parents and family friends what we were having. It was awkward going into it because I kept saying to my husband that I didn’t know how to act during it since we already know. It’s hard to fake a surprised excited face when you already know haha. But once we did it we just laughed and it was fine.

My husband and I are having a gender reveal for our 12 year old son they are going to shoot a gun together  and the smoke will either be pink or blue there will be no party with people invited just the 3 of us we will video and send to family
