I tried FIRST RESPONSE.. But still have NEGATIVE RESULT

Is it possible that first respose can give me a false negative? My next period is predicted on the 21st. I've had sex February 1-8 every single day. Am I pregnant? I took a pregnant test yesterday 2/18 at 4pm which was negative. When should I test. It's hard TTC
