Negative blood type - pregnancy issues?

Am I the only person that didn’t know that your blood type can play a factor into being able to have a viable pregnancy? I’m not going to pretend to know all of the facts, but there’s a shot that can help that my dr. has me setup to get tomorrow. Essentially when you have a different blood type than your baby, your body creates antibodies that attack it. I feel like this is something I should have known....am I just living under a rock?

Hi. Indeed you should get a shot if you come in contact with rh positive blood through miscarriage, birth, blood transfusion. It happened to me to have an mc in 2015 and they did the shot. It's an one time shot and is saves you from pregnancy related complications.

Im O- and all they do is give you the Rhogram shot around 20 weeks more or less and during birth.

Not at all! Rh Factor :) if you’re Rh negative and your baby is Rh positive your body will create antibodies to attack your babies blood because your body just senses a “foreign substance” 
 Hence the shot that stops your body from producing antibodies. It will not harm baby! 💗
