How do you put your baby to sleep?

I am trying to figure out how everyone puts their babies to bed and if the majority are self soothing to sleep or need to be nursed/have a bottle or be rocked to sleep still.

I nurse to sleep and imagine it will be at least another year or 2 before I dont.

Same here! I’m thinking at least a year more of this!

I rock for a few minutes until she relaxes, then she goes in her crib and self soothes to sleep.

Same, he eats and then I rock him to relax and for a bit of cuddles. Then I put him down, still awake.

Do what’s best for your baby! We felt pressured to try sleep training and it didn’t feel right for us, so we’re going to keep rocking to sleep until it’s not what’s best anymore! Don’t let other moms guilt you into doing something that’s not right for you 🙂

My daughter still nurses so while 90% of the time we lay her down awake, sometimes she falls asleep while nursing 🤷🏻‍♀️

Always nurses my first daughter to sleep and do the same with this lil gal 💕 I don't know how it happens that way but it works like magic for us and I love that it's our last bonding of the day right before a new one 🥰

I nurse my baby, but only because it's been a few hours since his last nursing and it's time to nurse him again. He doesn't rely on it.

I give my LO a bath, (then when she gets out, most of the lights are off), then I put her in her pjs and sleep sack, take her into her room and give her a bottle, then when she's done she pushes it out. Then I rock and snuggle her until she falls asleep, then I put her in bed. Some nights when she's super tired but is having a hard time getting comfortable on me, she'll toss and turn and thrash around, so I end up just putting her in her bed and she curls up and goes to sleep on her own. But for the majority of naps and bed, I always rock her to sleep. And I don't do the bottles prior to nap, just bed.

I rocked my son for every nap and for every bed time every day for 11 months then spot on at 11 months he just flat out refused to be rocked out of no where. He just grew out of it. So now me or my partner will lay on the bed with him stroking his hair until he falls asleep.

When others watch her during the week (sister, husband, MIL) they rock her to sleep for nap. I nurse her when putting her down for a nap. At night we nurse until she is relaxed and then I put her down (in our bed) and she rolls around and talks to herself until she falls asleep - this is new though. I’m trying to get ready for transitioning her to her crib. Some nights she gets mad and cries in my face cuz she wants to nurse to sleep. I just rub her back those nights.
