How soon do doctors typically schedule induction or c section?

Is it typically about a week out or can it be within a day or two?
I’ll be 39 weeks next week and at my next appt I’m wondering how soon things would get scheduled. It looks like I may end up getting induced or c section as doctor doesn’t want me to go too far over 40 weeks since baby will be big.

I would recommend not letting your dr schedule a c section just for being overdue unless absolutely necessary. My inductions were scheduled about 2 days ahead of time.

My inductions were early 36+3 because I had a large baby 9lbs 12 oz then the next one was 37 weeks and baby was 8lbs 4 oz and the next was 38 wks and 7lbs 14 oz this time she is planning 37 wks maybe earlier due to baby being big and I am only 31 wks

My doctor said when I am 30 weeks we’ll schedule my c section for when I’m 39 weeks. I’m not sure if that will be 39 weeks exactly or just sometime in that week,

Mine was scheduled for the next day. I asked for my induction though. I was 39+4. I was measuring 4 weeks large and was so uncomfortable.  My doc offered the induction for the very next day and I jumped on the opportunity.
