Too soon to get my hopes up?!

I'm 39 and just started TTC #1. I was on BC for 19 years and just stopped taking them at the end of August. I went to both my PCP and OB/GYN for check-ups and was told that I'm in perfect health and to start trying. My OB/GYN told me it could take 6-12 months to ovulate based on my age and being on BC. I started tracking right away and during cycle #1 tested 4 high fertility days and a peak day - according to Clear Blue digital. My bbt wear also text book to ovulation.

Now I'm 9DPO and experiencing mild cramps and low back pain. Had a little spotty bleeding yesterday morning, evening and again this morning. My bbt has been running high last 4 days. hpt this morning was negative.

Any insight? Implantation or the start of an irregular period? I keep telling myself it's too early.
