Sunscreen on toddler?

Do you put sunscreen on your toddler? I always do however I was talking to a few mom friends and I was surprised to hear that they never use sunscreen on their toddler.

My grandfather is a fisherman and has been fishing almost his whole life and never goes out fishing without putting on sunscreen. He got skin cancer a couple years ago and they told him that you’re more likely to get skin cancer from wearing sunscreen because the sun is cooking the chemicals into your skin. Not sure how true that it is 🤷🏽‍♀️ I still use it on my son but it was the first time I heard of it.

Melanoma is no joke. Our pediatrician said their first summer after 9 months to have sun screen. Plus my family is full of freckled gingers, so yup!

Only a little on her feet. Otherwise she wears a hat and long sleeves. We’re outside every day
