I just read a news article that a patient was treated for measles at my OB's office earlier this week. Thankfully I was not there during the days there were exposure risks.

Logically I know that you are exposed to a million things every time you step into a public place, be it the grocery store, church, a restaurant, etc..

I also believe that good things and bad things, sickness and health happen to all of us as just part of being alive on this earth, but that if it was God's will to extend protection you could share a milkshake with the infected patient and be okay. (I am of course not saying anyone should do something foolish like that, we were given common sense and modern medicine as a gift we are expected to utilize!)

However it is still a little unsettling to see it so close to home, and I just wanted to vent and share with other pregnant mamas who might understand how weirded out I felt reading that article!
