No, some people are asymptomatic and don't have physical symptoms. They still have HSV though. Often it can look like a simple pimple so a lot of people overlook the symptoms.

i really wanna go get checked but i don't think she believes it's hsv so she won't take me. most of my believes it's not either i just want a ease of mind you know ?

i don't have any pimples and I don't have any itching or burning but i do have throbbing pain in the top part. my mom said it's probably nothing but im mad paranoid
