No longer who I thought he was

I have a friend that I've know for years and he's had my back a lot. My boyfriend of a year and a half and him got along great. It wasn't until my boyfriend and I went out and ran into him. I talked to him a bit whilst my boyfriend talked to his mates and he started saying things like " if your single when your 39 I'll marry you.." And "I'll marry you!" And I replied with " I'm planing on staying with my boyfriend for a long time"

Then when I told my boyfriend he laughed and didn't faze him as I was shocked and didn't think it was serious. Then he started slipping I like you's in and commenting on my photos.. My boyfriend then got mad as he was disrespecting our relationship. This resulted in me ( the kind of person that can't let friends go and always see it could go back and be friends again) and him saying he didn't want me to talk to him.

The guy recently got into drugs and I was trying to help him on a good path but now it turned :(

Anyone have any advice?
