What age did you give your child a blanket to sleep with?

My son is 11.5 months old and currently sleeps with a sleep sack. I’m wondering when I can give him a blanket to sleep with?

My daughter was around 7 or 8 months. I know they say after one, but she wanted something to comfort her at night. A lovie and stuffed animal weren't working.  We gave her a small blanket, and her sleep improved immediately.

I gave mine one just after her first birthday but she still used her sleep sack until she was 2. I didn’t see a point in not using one before then as she didn’t keep a blanket on at night anyways and she was always too hot if we put her in fuzzy pyjamas so the sleep sack was the only way I knew she’d stay warm on cold winter nights

My son has had one since 4m... he is now 1.5 years old and his favorite blanket is 3x as big as he is.

Both my girls have have slept with a blanket since they were born, but they were the thin Muslin blankets so they were breathe able. But they were April babies so it was hot from then until October, then I switched to a slightly thicker blanket, my oldest was never one to take a paci so she attached to this super soft fuzzy blanket that my MIL gave her at about 7 months old, she’s almost 2 1/2 yrs now and will not sleep without it. It made me nervous the first few nights when they slept in their rooms for the first time with blankets because I wasn’t awake to keep an eye on them like nap time, but they were so use to having them that they never pulled them up over their heads or anything, the closet it would be was my oldest curled up with it kinda like a pillow.

My son had a baby blanket since he was 1 month and he has a small blanket/stuffed animal thing that he loves he curls up with mom and dad and then he’s out like a light.
