I slept with my ex...... again

So me and an ex from high school (I’m currently 22), and a guy I consider to be my first love( he’s two years older) have always had an on again off again type relationships.

We dated shortly in high school and then broke up around October of my sophomore year of high school and his senior year of high school. Well we never completely dropped communication just didn’t talk as much well around spring break of the same year he started talking to me a lot more again so I went to his house to hangout and we ended up having sex (the day i lost my virginity). We never got back together officially and he went off to college so I never really saw him. But the whole time he was in college he never had any serious relationships and every time he would come home we would hook up.

Fast forward through college and now we both live and work in our hometown again so we’ve started texting, calling and hanging out/getting dinner/drinks and talking a lot. Well since we’ve both been back we’ve hooked up about 4 or 5 times and twice just in the past week.

I don’t really know what to make of it just because I don’t know where my own head is at much less his.

Is this a dumb decision? Should I cut all ties and let him go for good?

Any CONSTRUCTIVE criticism and advice is welcome. Please no bashing, I don’t need that in my life and this is supposed to be a safe and supportive forum.
