Should I change my name when we marry??!!

I WOULD LOVE SOME OPINIONS!!

Here are the tricky details causing me confusion:

I have a 5 yr old son from a previous relationship (his father and I were never married and not on good terms). When I gave birth to him, I decided to give him my last name, and am thankful and proud of that decision and what it meant to me at that time in my life. I do not wish to change his last name.

I’m now in a beautiful relationship, engaged to an incredible man who has been an amazing role model and father-figure to my son. We want to have more children together very soon.

1) I’d love to have my future husband’s last name.

2) I’d love for our future children to have his last name

3) But it would make me sad to abandon my maiden name that I share with my little boy.

4) I wouldn’t want him to be the only one in our home with a different name.

5) I also want to be connected by name to my future kids

Do I hyphenate my name and have to be different from my husband?

If so, would my married name or maiden name come first?

Do I even think about changing my firstborn’s name? (I don’t think his bio dad would ever sign off on that)

WHAT WOULD YOU DO?!

Opinions welcome!!!
