Your thoughts on zolfran?

I have been in the hospital twice now and am only at 8+1 weeks along. I am so sick I can't keep a thing down. I throw up everything I put in my mouth. My whole body aches. They finally put me on zolfran and something else that starts with a p..? What are your feelings on it?

I took only twice got scared when I seen them commercial. But I'm due 10/ 23 n doctor said everything good

It depends on your need. As my doctor explained zofran is to keep you from vomiting. It does nothing to help your nausea. If you have a lot of nausea you may want to try diclegis instead. If you are worried about the commercials for lawsuits you've seen, know that millions of women take zofran during pregnancy and have zero issues. The "lawyers" in this commercials are just trying to take advantage. I was on nuvavring for 9 years and did not have a heart attack, blood clot or stroke like those lawsuit commercials advertise.

I was prescribed zofran for gastroparesis. It didn't help me at all.

The other drug was probably phenergan (I totally spelled that wrong..) that didn't help me either. But I wasn't pregnant while taking either of those meds

Mmhmm I took it because I couldn't keep anything down. Took it at night Before bed. Everything is healthy and happy. Zofran is considered extremely safe for pregnant women.  It also doesn't make you as tired (I say that because it made me a little drowsy) I am just shy of 4 months and my baby is measuring perfectly and everything is going very smoothly.  It's a category b which in reality it's the safest you're going to get. Category a pharmaceuticals do not really exist due to the fear of law suits if there is a birth defect if they say something is category a.  Good luck feel better!!

I lived on Zofran my entire first trimester. Baby is perfectly healthy and developing on point.

Zofran saved me ...I've been taking it my whole pregnancy ..I am 38 weeks and baby is health and fine!

I personally was given phenergen(promethazine) for mine because I already knew it worked. My friend took zolfran, her son is happy and healthy 9 months old as of the other day. From what I've been told, they're only a "risk" because they can't say 100% that there is no risk involved with your baby when taking them. Because there aren't people sitting there willing to take them to test the effects they have on the child during pregnancy.

Zofran got me through my whole pregnancy with my son. This pregnancy I have been taking diclegis (36 weeks and still sick if not on the meds), which has actually worked a lot better for me.

Zofran is fine as long as it's not taken beyond the second trimester. It says on the packaging not to be taken in the third trimester. So for me I only needed it for the first 16 weeks. This time it's not helping as much. I drink something with a little caffeine because the bubbles help my stomach.
