Hiking Half Dome in Yosemite

Has anyone done this hike before? It's apparently 14-17 miles front and back.

Any advice? I want to start prepping for this hike, I will most likely get the permits for spring time so that gives me a few months to prep for such an insane hike. Did you guys just hike it OR do your research beforehand?

There was an article about a young lady who fell off the half dome, it doesn't specify where but that only made me want to be extra cautious about this hike.

It's on my bucket list, any advice would be amazing ❤️
