Do you post your baby on social media

Question

Hi, I’m expecting my first baby any day. I’m quite a private person. I rarely post on social media- maybe a few pics a year on Instagram and nothing on Facebook even though I use the apps daily. Im in 2 minds about whether I want to post my baby on social media/the internet. What does everyone think to this.
Ultimately the baby would have no control over this even though it would be photos of them?

I do on Facebook. My page is private and it's easier for my family to keep up. Everyone lives all over the world.

We do not post our 3 month old on social media, nor do we allow family to.  It’s hard bc we want to show her off, but as you said she has no control over the photos.  We also want to protect her/our privacy as much as possible. We don’t want her image out there for anyone to find and use.  We also don’t want people knowing what parks we go to and where we are with her.  Sadly there are some bad people out there in the world who prey on children or use their images for things that they aren’t intended to be used for.  At the end of the day people who we want to see her pictures we text.

I post pretty rarely, so maybe a few times a year a picture of him is posted. Our closest family is an 8 hour drive and a lot of our friends are located all around the US so they rarely get to see him.

I don’t post my daughters. If I do it’s on Instagram stories because it disappears after 24 hours and even when I do that I try not to show their faces. I don’t feel like putting them all over social media. I’m really private when it comes to my kids.
