Should there be a MAXIMUM wage?

I don’t know if this has been discussed here before, but I didn’t see it posted recently...

I’m wondering if people think it would be beneficial to set a maximum wage? Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t mean to set a maximum wage that is a very small limit. I still believe those who study and go through school for good jobs should still be paid more than those who did not, but I feel that some people make so much money that its just insane and could benefit other people way more.

Just for an example if you think of celebrities or athletes they aren’t really doing anything extraordinary for the world and some of them make over $100 million dollars a year. In my mind it would be far better to cap these peoples wages at an amount that they could still live a good or luxurious lifestyle like $25 or $50 million a year even and have all of the other money filtered back down to different things like people living in poverty, government programs to support education, health care and other beneficial programs, etc.

If you really think about it if all of these types of people who make absurd amounts of money were forced to share it there would likely be a huge drop in poverty and there would be a significant amount of good ways that that money could be used for that would be far more beneficial than that same celebrity spending millions on their next wedding.

Maybe I’m just ridiculous but I find it sickening that the world works in a sense that some people can afford fifty houses and others can’t even keep a roof over their head.

It seems absurd that some can live in such luxury, while for others they spend their whole lives just trying to survive.

What are your thoughts about a maximum wage? Could it ever work?
