Has anyone started on oatmeal?

Question

Someone gave us a bunch of baby oatmeal and little jars of food. They say from about 4 months, and I know someone who has been putting cereal in their baby's bottle for a few weeks already. 
Anyone started baby on these foods? Not sure if it's too early still, my daughter is almost 14 weeks

American Academy of Pediatrics says to wait until 6 months, so that’s what I do. I also do baby led weaning, so I don’t feed cereal or baby food.

Yes started at 8 weeks. My son now eats from a spoon with rice cereal and baby food or with oatmeal.  Started him with it in his bottle at first.  Everyone has different views of what is right and wrong to do with baby. But you do what you feel is best for your baby. I did the same with all my kids. All of them are alive still. Lol.

European guidelines advice that you wait to at least 17 weeks to start introducing solids because earlier introduction is connected with various issues in later life. I would personally wait for that mark and than start to experiment. But, it’s your baby so do as you wish.

I'm going for babyfed weaning so I'll be waiting until 6 months, but my health visitor said that I could try my 12 week old on porridge if I wanted to.

Yup we stared at 7 weeks in the bottle, doctor recommended! Working on the spoon feeding 😂 it’s messy but we’re learning!

I started putting baby cereal in my daughters bottle about a month ago recommended by a doctor now once a week I’m trying her with baby cereal on a spoon until she isn’t bad with the taste. I’d do what you want to with your child it’s yours not no else to me their opinion doesn’t matter.

Until today on occasion we dip our sons pacifier into certain flavours to see how he would take it he absolutely loves it. He is breastfed today I tried and successfully fed him about 6 tiny spoons when I mean tiny I mean like a tiny bloblet on a spoon of pured green vegetables made for babies and he loved it. I won’t be replacing breastfeeding with it but we got it to experiment. He is 12 weeks 2 days old the last time I spoke to the midwife she said he would be able to experiment soon
